October User Group Meetings During October 2008, 6 monthly user group meetings were held at all Vision facilities and customers can now view the minutes from these meetings on the centre notice boards. The meetings were very positive and provided Vision with some excellent suggestions and feedback about areas where we can improve the service to our customers. Ilford Pools closure The London Borough of Redbridge announced the closure of Ilford Pools at the end of September 2008. Vision is a registered charity In February 2008 Vision received confirmation from the Charities Commission that the companys application to become a registered charity has been approved. This was one of the early aims of the new trust and the Board of Trustees and the London Borough of Redbridge are delighted with this achievement. Transfer of Facilities The London Borough of Redbridge recently approved the transfer of additional facilities to Vision following a successful first year of trading by the company. The new Redbridge Cycling Centre and the golf courses at Fairlop Waters became part of Visions portfolio of facilities in November 2008. There are further plans to transfer the management and operation of Wanstead Leisure Centre to Vision in April 2009.

Vision facilities achieve quality accreditation All of the facilities managed by Vision have been awarded QUEST following a rigorous external accreditation process. QUEST is the recognised quality standard for leisure facilities and the assessment for each centre provides Vision with an excellent tool for continuous improvement. The original plan was to work towards achieving QUEST in 2009 but this was brought forward in order to measure performance against the industry standard.
